In this episode, I discuss the claim that distant starlight poses a problem for a young creationist view. I answer a listener’s question about passages that say God “stretched out the heavens.”
I argue there are important considerations when interpreting these poetic passages. Overall, I advocate a non-concordist, phenomenological reading of such poetic passages, rejecting a literal concordist view that maps Bible verses to modern cosmology. I stress interpreting the Bible consistently, using evidence from other creationist arguments about genre and interpretation. Enjoy the show!
