In this episode, I speak with computational engineer Dr. Ticho Tenev about his proposed solution to the distant starlight problem from a young earth creation perspective. His paper was coauthored by Drs. John Baumgardner and Mark Horstemeyer.
Ticho walks us through special relativity and how it relates to the distant starlight problem. He then explains his proposed solution of Creation Time Coordinates which posits that during the creation week, God established time zones in space that allowed starlight to reach Earth on Day 4. Ticho discusses how his solution compares to other young earth creation models like Jason Lisle’s ASC model. We also discuss the importance of understanding design and purpose in science and how secular science is missing this key component.
This was an informative discussion on relativity, cosmology and finding solutions to perceived conflicts between science and Scripture.
